Coachella Heads To The Prime Seas

Break out your semi-ironic boat sneakers (in case you are now not already dressed in them): Coachella is hitting the top seas.

Yes, having already extended to multiple weekends, conquered country music and cornered the marketplace on slightly terrifying holographic representations of long-deceased rappers, the organizers of the long-running Coachella fest at the moment are taking the following logical step: pronouncing plans for a couple of musical cruises aboard a ship dubbed the S.S. Coachella.

California-based live performance promoter Goldenvoice made the statement Tuesday (July 17) on Coachella's Facebook page, revealing the lineup and dates for the inaugural Coachella cruises. Headlined by Pulp and Sizzling Chip, and that includes units from the likes of Yeasayer, Lady Talk, Sleigh Bells, Killer Mike and Cloud Nothings, the "TRACK Competition at Sea" will head to the Bahamas December 16-19 after which to Jamaica December 19-23.

Reservations for the primary leg of the fest (to be able to happen aboard a star Silhouette luxurious liner) move on sale starting Saturday at 10 a.m. PT during the S.S. Coachella website. An preliminary down fee of $250 is needed to safe a state room at the boat, and if that turns out slightly steep, imagine that, along with all of the music, organizers are already touting a sequence of at-sea activities, together with are living DJ tutorials, wine tastings (hosted by former LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY Soundsystem guy James Murphy), full-service manicures and "Boats N' Crafts." The S.S. Coachella can even function "a globally prompted mix of vintage and latest menus," even though organizers are fast to indicate "alcohol, bottled water and soda don't seem to be included."
