BERKELEY -- Government have recognized the bicyclist who died Friday after a crash in downtown Berkeley.

Shlomo Bentin, a well known Israeli psychology professor, was killed in a crash with a sell off truck within the 2100 block of Bancroft Manner west of Fulton Street, an Alameda County Coroner's Bureau professional said.

Bentin, 65, was dressed in a bicycle helmet, which was shattered, police stated.

Police have been known as to the scene at 3:38 p.m. after passers-by flagged down paramedics, who began CPR at the bicyclist, mentioned Sgt. Mary Kusmiss. Bentin was taken to Highland Health facility in Oakland, the place he died at 4:14 p.m.
