Athlon makes its Massive East predictions

So far, we've seen Massive East predictions from Phil Steele and College Soccer News.

Athlon is up next.

The pick out: Louisville and USF are co-champs, however the Cardinals win the head-to-head matchup among the 2 and make it to the BCS. Here's how Athlon sees the large East shaking out:

1. Louisville (10-2, 5-2)

2. USF (8-4, 5-2)

3. Pitt (7-5, 4-3)

4. Rutgers (8-4, 4-3)

5. Cincinnati (7-5, 4-3)

6. Syracuse (5-7, 3-4)

7. UConn (5-7, 2-5)

8. Temple (5-7, 1-6)

Here are a few attention-grabbing issues Athlon makes that I FEEL are truly valid:

On Rutgers: "With a brand new train and new coordinators, Rutgers could be the largest thriller crew within the Large East." I'VE Rutgers and Syracuse as my greatest thriller groups. Many people, myself included, have been projecting Rutgers to win the massive East in 2012 proper after ultimate season ended. However a training modification and quarterback uncertainty has made people go into reverse. Rutgers may still be within the best tier within the league, however there may be a number of uncertainty approximately what we're going to see.

On Pitt: "Pittsburgh may be the sleeper crew to observe within the Massive East race." I'VE in reality heard this from a couple of Massive East coaches. My ESPN.com colleague Christian Fauria has picked Pitt to be his dark horse this year. IF the operating recreation is pretty much as good as expected; IF Tino Sunseri can take care of the sport; IF the offensive line improves; and IF questions are responded within the entrance seven, Pitt could have nearly as good a shot as any one to win the league. However the ones are a large number of ifs.

On UConn: "If the offense is better, the Huskies will have to simply beef up upon closing year’s 5 wins." I'VE BEEN announcing this for reasonably a while. Test that video with Fauria above. I BELIEVE UConn could have a fair sufficient safety to make it again to a bowl recreation. If there's forged play at quarterback and alongside the offensive line, the Huskies might be a close to lock to make it to a bowl.
